Paystack - Notice history

We are experiencing an increase in failures on inward ​(​Pay with Transfer and Dedicated Virtual Accounts)​​ and outward Transfers as a result of a downtime with the Central Switch in Nigeria.

As a result, you may experience delays and failures when making transfers to Paystack Virtual Accounts, and also when making outward transfers from Paystack to other bank accounts.

We are in communication with the Central Switch and will share updates as soon as possible.

We are currently experiencing failures with Bank transfers. Transfers to all banks other than KCB and Equity are affected. We are actively investigating the cause and working on a fix.

We are experiencing delays with a small number of outward transfers to Nigerian bank accounts as a result of a processor downtime. As a result, some transfers may take longer than usual to get a final status.

What this means for you

During this period, you may experience elevated failures or intermittent errors when processing NGN card transactions. Verve card transactions are expected to be more affected than other card schemes.

We are currently experiencing a downtime with the central switch in Nigeria. As a result, you may notice delays in completing inward transfers to Paystack Titan managed accounts via both Pay with Transfer (PwT) and Dedicated Virtual Accounts (DVA).

Our partner, MPESA, is currently having a downtime on their platform, which is affecting mobile money transactions at the moment. As a result, most MPESA transactions are failing. We're currently liaising with them to fix the issues and restore the service.

We are currently experiencing delays and increased failures in the processing of Outward Transfers. This means that attempts to transfer funds to bank accounts may fail.

We are seeing an increase rate of failure for Capitec Pay requests. The issue has been escalated to Capitec.

We are seeing an increase in failure rates on transactions made with cards issued by Access Bank, due to a service issue on the bank's side.

We have notified the Access Bank team and are working with them to resolve this as quickly as possible. In the meantime, customers may experience declines when paying with their Access Bank cards.

Other payment channels (transfer, USSD, other banks' cards) remain unaffected.
